Refund Policy

The International Journal of Trends in Multidisciplinary strives to maintain the highest academic standards in the processing and publication of research. Because significant editorial resources and manpower are engaged from the moment of acceptance to ensure the final manuscript meets professional standards, the following refund conditions apply.

1. General Refund Eligibility
  • Stipulated Timeframe: Refund requests are only acceptable if submitted within 2 business days (IST - Indian Standard Time) from the date of formal acceptance of the manuscript and before the commencement of the production/formatting stage.
  • Formal Application: All refund requests must be submitted in writing to the Editorial Office with a valid justification and proof of payment.

2. International Refund Requests (Outside India)
  • Variable Deduction Rates: For refund requests originating from outside India, the final refund amount is variable and subject to current market exchange rates at the time of processing.
  • Currency Fluctuations: The Journal is not responsible for any loss in the refunded amount due to fluctuations in international exchange rates between the date of payment and the date of refund.
  • Transaction Fees: Any additional intermediary bank charges, wire transfer fees or payment gateway surcharges incurred during the international transfer will be borne solely by the author.

3. Non-Refundable Conditions (Zero Refund)

The journal maintains a strict No Refund policy under the following circumstances:

  • Fast-Track Publication: No refund will be granted for manuscripts processed under a fast-track or expedited editorial model, as resources are prioritized and utilized immediately upon submission.
  • Post-Publication: Once a manuscript has been published online (Ahead of Print or Version of Record), no refund requests will be entertained under any circumstances, as the scholarly record is considered permanent.

4. Refund Stages & Process
i). Before Publication
  • If a valid refund request is received within the stipulated timeframe after acceptance but before the layout and formatting stage, a partial refund may be considered.
  • Mandatory Deduction: All eligible refunds are subject to a variable deduction (starting at a minimum of 40%). This fee covers the manpower engaged in technical screening, plagiarism verification, peer-review coordination and initial polishing of the manuscript (including metadata preparation and DOI registration costs if applicable) to maintain high academic standards.
ii). After Publication
  • No refunds are provided after publication. This strictly includes cases where an article is retracted due to proven research misconduct, plagiarism or any breach of the Journal’s Ethical Guidelines.

5. Wrongly Deposited or Extra Funds

In the event of an accidental overpayment or a "wrongly deposited" transaction:

  • Proof of Transaction: The Author/Remitter must provide original transaction receipts and bank-verified proof of the transaction (bank receipt, transaction ID) within 5 business days.
  • Processing: Upon verification, the extra amount will be refunded to the original payment source. A nominal administrative processing fee may be deducted by the bank or the payment gateway. Any difference in the amount due to bank-to-bank transfer fees or currency conversion shall be the responsibility of the remitter.

6. Publisher Rights & Legal Compliance
  • Right to Refuse: The publisher reserves the right to refuse a refund request if it is found to be in violation of the journal's withdrawal or ethical policies.
  • Policy Updates: The publisher reserves the right to update this Refund Policy at any time to reflect changes in operational costs or legal requirements.
  • Dispute Resolution: In the event of a dispute, the publisher’s decision—based on the documented editorial effort and the timeline of the request—shall be final and binding.
  • Integrity Retention: The publisher may retain records of all financial transactions and refund requests indefinitely as part of its Legal Defense & Jurisdictional Rights.

Note: This policy is to be read in conjunction with the Journal’s Withdrawal Policy and Plagiarism Policy.
